Location: Buffalo Grove, IL
Salary: $19-$22 per hour

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in Buffalo Grove, IL.
As an integral member of our ophthalmology practice, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our ophthalmologists in delivering accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

Responsibilities:
– Conduct preliminary patient assessments, including gathering medical history and performing basic vision tests.
– Prepare examination rooms with necessary equipment and ensure all instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
– Assist ophthalmologists during eye exams, surgeries, and procedures by providing precise measurements and documentation.
– Perform various diagnostic tests such as visual field testing, tonometry, and refractometry.
– Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens insertion/removal, and medication usage.
– Maintain electronic health records (EHR) accurately and efficiently.
– Collaborate with the front desk and administrative staff to schedule appointments and manage patient flow.

Qualifications:
– Diploma or certification as an Ophthalmic Technician is a plus.
– Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or in a related medical field.
– Familiarity with ophthalmic instruments and diagnostic equipment.
– Empathetic and compassionate approach towards patients.
– Proficient computer skills, including working with EHR systems.
– Ability to multitask, work efficiently under pressure, and maintain a professional demeanor.
